Congratulations to Francesca Hernandez (2006 Byron Fellow), whose Kickstarter Campaign for Whirlaway Farm was successfully funded on Dec 15, 2014!
Instead of going to graduate school, Francesca decided to pursue her vision of starting a farm where she could learn more about growing and creating food and where others can learn about it as well. She is fueled by the conviction that these activities allow us fun, resilience and connection to each other and ourselves.
This campaign raised $28,000 in one month to support the second phase in Francesca’s project. After receiving wonderful support from her immediate community for the past year, these resources will be used to create a fully realized homestead farm.
