Ilya is committed to facilitating creative collaborations that bridge artistic and academic disciplines. His passions for music, dance, and live art have provided him opportunities to perform in festivals, creative residencies, and tours across North America, Europe, and Japan. In tandem with his artistic practice, Ilya pursued undergraduate studies at Northeastern University and graduate work at Harvard University, where he engaged with clinical and experimental projects to research the neural underpinnings of cognitive and neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, AD/HD, Schizophrenia, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Currently, Ilya balances facilitating professional development workshops and seminars at institutions such as Harvard University, DePaul University, Laban Conservatoire, Apple, Body/Brain Connect, with his own choreographic research at companies including the Royal Swedish Ballet, Chicago Hubbard Street, Boston Ballet, The Cambrians, and the Erick Hawkins Dance Company.
