Boris Henderson (he/him) — Charlotte, North Carolina, USA — is a community-centered leader whose work bridges finance, real estate, economic development, and institutional stewardship. After more than a decade in banking and commercial real estate finance, he made a deliberate pivot into entrepreneurship and community development, focusing on affordable housing, mixed-income development, and neighborhood revitalization in underserved communities. This path led him into nonprofit and institutional leadership rooted in long-term investment in people and place. Boris now serves as Chief of Staff and Director of Economic and Legislative Affairs at Johnson C. Smith University, where he helps lead community engagement, economic development, and institutional strategy during a pivotal period in the university’s history. Deeply engaged in civic and philanthropic leadership across Charlotte, he has also served in leadership roles with Habitat for Humanity at both the regional and international levels. Across his work, Boris is guided by a deep commitment to building opportunity that endures across generations. Boris has been married to Tiara for over twenty-one years, and they have a daughter (Blair, 17) and son (William, 14). In his free time, he coaches youth basketball and loves to read.
