Jane “Carter” Ingram (she/her) — Washington DC, United States — is a nature and climate leader devoted to strengthening the relationships between people, land, water, and living systems. Her lifelong commitment to conservation began in childhood, shaped by witnessing the loss of the forests and waterways she loved, and has guided her academic training and global career in sustainable development. Carter has worked across diverse ecosystems alongside farmers, fishers, and community leaders in places such as Madagascar, the Seychelles, Rwanda,Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Costa Rica, Kansas, and North Carolina, supporting efforts that protect nature while strengthening local livelihoods. She now leads the North American team at Pollination, where she integrates the value of nature into business and economic decision-making. At the heart of her work is a dedication to helping people care for the places they depend on, and to building futures where human communities and the natural world can thrive together.
