Tamara Jolly (she/her)Adirondack region, New York, USA — is an educator and community leader working at the intersection of environmental justice, education, and belonging. After more than fifteen years of teaching high school science in Baltimore, a period of burnout and healing led her to study environmental conservation in the Adirondacks. Discovering her love of nature and wild spaces in early adulthood strongly shaped how she understands learning, care, and connection to nature, which further informed her sense of leadership within and access to the healing power of nature. She now serves as Community Initiatives Manager at Adirondack Diversity Initiative, where she leads efforts to make outdoor and environmental spaces more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming across the North Country. Tamara’s work is driven by a vision of a region where access to land, opportunity, and healing is not determined by race, class, identity, or geography, and where communities are united in caring for both people and place.
