I have worked for over a decade in the food movement as a researcher, writer, educator and beginning farmer. I ran an international, solidarity travel program for four years bringing people to the frontlines of the global Food Sovereignty movement, working with affiliated partners from La Via Campesina, The Basque Farmer’s Union and The Korean Women’s Peasant Association. After advocating for farmers internationally for many years, I decided it was time to get my hands dirty in local soil and completed the 6 month apprenticeship program at the University of California, Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems, where I graduated with a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture. I also hold a B.A. in International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara which grounds my work in global systems and social justice. I am particularly interested in writing, communicating, educating and farming all things food and justice oriented!

I currently work at the Multinational Exchange for Sustainable Agriculture where I am an educator and curriculum developer for the Certificate in Applied Agroecology and Climate Resilience Course for Farmers. I also handle MESA’s communication and outreach to our diverse global and local network through newsletters, PR, social media and other various means.

When I’m not at MESA, I farm at Singing Frogs Farm in Sebastopol, CA, growing no-till vegetables and sequestering carbon with an incredible crew of young and not-so-young farmers interested in changing the way we grow our food and treat our eco-systems.

Additionally, I’m particularly interested in visualizing a world where women can use their full voices, power, and magic.
