Sofia is committed to supporting women of marginalized communities through developing collaborative social and environmental enterprises. Sofia currently runs Agua de Luna, a sustainable textile design company she co-founded that creates loom weaving art using textile waste from various fashion companies. Sofia has a degree in Textile Design from Universidad Iberoamericana, which involved a year studying Marketing & Business of Fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Prior to founding Agua de Luna with two of her close friends, Sofia worked as an International Buyer for a Mexican fast fashion brand, and decided to leave the industry because she did not share the organization’s values. Sofia has a Post-Graduate Diploma from Universidad CENTRO in Styling and Visual Merchandising, and extensive experience with both the creative design and business strategy aspects of the fashion industry.
