Hey Byron friends! I am a German-European citizen and was shaped by a 1-year volunteer service in Ecuador and two years studying and working in the US (West & East Coast). My I envision myself as a bridge builder between the political, business and nonprofit sector with a strong focus on environmental progress. But I also seek to build bridges between cultures, both in my professional and particularly my private life. Together with my girlfriend from Chile and her little 6-year old daughter we are planning to move to Berlin – Germany this summer. While she is working on immigration and integration issues in the nonprofit sector, I am focussing on the long-term preventive side of forced immigration prevention side (in particular slowing global warming) in the political and business sector. My proposed toolbox for success is tri-sectoral leadership. I see many of todays challenges as too complex to be solved with sector specific knowledge alone. Business can learn from politics and especially nonprofits about value driven work and social impact, politics and nonprofits learn efficient working techniques and financial stability from business. In the end many of our contemporary society’s issues appear to be easier solvable if we speak one another’s language. Learning the language of all three sectors seems to be a good start. Doing so through private and work experience is my goal before visting US grad school in two years where I am aiming to make plans for my own organization.
