Jessica is committed to fostering ecological well being, grounded in the principles of social justice. She currently studies food equity and the Just Transition as a PhD candidate in the Geography Department at the University of Buffalo. As a PhD candidate, Jessica seeks to understand how food equity initiatives can be used as a conduit for achieving racial and ecological justice for frontline communities in Buffalo. Jessica also works as a research associate at the Partnership for the Public Good, where she is working to bring the Good Food Purchasing Program to the Buffalo Public School District. Through her research both at UB and at PPG, Jessica works to bridge the gap between academia and advocacy. Jessica has a BA in French & International Relations from SUNY Geneseo, and spent time teaching English in France and Tanzania before moving to Buffalo to begin her PhD studies.
