Aleister is an activist, advocate, social worker, and peer support specialist, committed to empowering queer youth, and helping others find their call to action. Aleister’s work is diverse, from peer support sessions and facilitating group discussions at Warren Wilson College’s Center for Gender & Relationships, to hiring college advising staff, to being a Residential Assistant (RA) to 35 students, to working with produce customers to address issues of food insecurity. Aleister’s efforts are grounded in a foundation of love, vulnerability, and curiosity; sharing their own experiences and listening carefully to hear the diverse experiences of others. Aleister is currently pursuing a degree in Social Work from Warren Wilson College with concentrations in history, political science, gender studies, queer theory, and health and human behavior.
