Gerry Sikazwe (he/him) is a Zambian social accountability activist, poet, and creative curator committed to using art as a catalyst for civic engagement and democratic change. Through protest poetry and advocacy-centered performances, he amplifies the voices of marginalized groups—youth, women, and persons with disabilities—challenging oppressive norms and demanding transparency in governance. As a writer and curator, he has hosted over 84 poetry shows and mobilized 1,000+ youth in Zambia to use spoken word as a tool for activism. Beyond the stage, Gerry’s leadership spans civic education, communications, and youth empowerment. He has worked with organizations such as Word Smash Poetry Movement, the African Union ECOSOCC, and the Centre for Young Leaders in Africa, designing programs that foster youth participation in governance and legal reform. His goal is to bridge the gap between marginalized communities and decision-making spaces, ensuring that civic education and representation drive policy change.
